The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under the Twinning program of German & Iraqi University, they accepted Nano project of the department of physics, the University of Zakho for the academic year 2017-2018. The funding of this program for the project is 200,000€. Dr. Diyar Sadiq from the department of physics, University of Zakho is the coordinator of this project. The goal of the project is to deepen the already established cooperation between the group of Ultraschnelle Nano-Optik from the University of Oldenburg/Germany and the department of physics, University of Zakho (UOZ) in the field of nanotechnology. This project will raise the reconstruction of the foundations of higher education in the new established University, UOZ. The key areas of work of the planned cooperation will improve the higher education system by building new skills through developing the educational courses and researches for young staffs and scientist at the UOZ and will establish a sustainable network between both universities. The following program was carried out in 2014 and 2015 with a budget of 25,000 € for each year. Those action plans were implemented by recruiting around 12 young lecturers, researchers and master students from the UOZ to participate in a two-month/per-year research internship in Oldenburg, as the collaboration between lectures from the both mentioned universities of the Germany and Iraq. It is worth mentioning that, a new nanotechnology center will be established at University of Zakho as a result of the outcome of the German-Iraqi University Twinning Program in 2014 and 2015 and the present project. According to the project, they train staffs from different fields of science of the University of Zakho in order to build a strong team in both research and education aspects. The main action plans for the present proposal offer different activities to cover the research field of nanotechnology, Bio-Chemistry Nano and numerical calculation. The time schedule for this proposal will be two-year training and researchers including 10 Post-doctorate, PhD and master students for each year.
